The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has actively endorsed Crash Responder Safety Week.
This nationwide initiative aims to enhance safety for emergency responders, including law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services, towing and recovery, and transportation and public works personnel. The theme for CRSW 2023 is "Protect Those Who Protect You."

The goal is to raise public awareness about the safety challenges faced by responders and remind the public to exercise caution near roadside incidents involving emergency personnel.

Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Training: FHWA launched TIM training in 2012, tailored for and by responders. Over 700,000 responders have undergone this training to date.
